Iris Menza grew up in a small village in Belgium, Maasmechelen, close to the border of the Netherlands. She has always been into music from the 80’s and the hip hop from the 90’s. When she was 17 years old, she started listening to house music and immediately felt the love for it. After a few years of partying, she decided to buy herself a pair of turntables and began DJing. During the years she became an eclectic collector of timeless vinyls and her passion for music kept on growing. Music has always been a very important part of her life.
When talking about the top-representatives of Belgian underground culture, Iris Menza undoubtedly pops up on the major tier of the list. Besides being a highly demanded and respected name in the Benelux, she is also known abroad like in Germany, Ibiza and Switzerland. Her sound is a sophisticated hybrid of dub-tech and deep house with an emotional groovy undertone, which she can undisputedly call her own.
